I’m so excited about my new website. I’m hoping to go live with it at the end of the week! Here’s a quick pic to show you my new look.
It’s still a work in progress. It’s been a challenge to work on it during wedding season, but it will be worth it when it’s all finished.
The best part is that my blog will now be a part of my website so you can check out both at the same time. This will mean that my current subscribers will have to re-subscribe. So I hope you’ll stick with me:)
I’ll have a give away to share. And I’ll be introducing a DIY Wedding section where I will be posting pics of ideas for invitations, menus, programs and other wedding signage. I’ll also be sharing pics from DIY brides and other crafters who have used my font to create items for their wedding and other events.
If you have any pics to share, please send them to me at debi@letteringartstudio.com.
Thanks for reading my posts and sharing your thoughts with me. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy what I have to share.
Best!
Debi

The clever Misty Duncan has done it again!
I love seeing my cursive font, Belluccia, used in these lovely invitations that she created.

The pink and grey layered papers on this baby shower invitation create a polished look and give depth to the card. The fabulous fabric flower and netting add a darling touch.
Misty also designed this beautiful bridal luncheon invite using Belluccia. The jewel, ribbon, and netting combination creates a vintage feel that pairs beautifully with my script font. I also love the contrast of the vivid blue ribbon with the peek of red paper.
Thank you Misty for using Belluccia in these darling invites!

I love what Sarah Sorrentino, of Foglio Press, did with my Belluccia font. The bold graphic use of my lettering in these invites and save the date beautifully highlights every curve.

The purple lettering on this save the date layered on top of a black and white photo is extremely eye catching.

The neutral color along with the pop of red on this wedding invite gives a simple, clean look. The names in my cursive font combined with the contemporary styles used for the date and other wording creates a beautiful modern look . The flourish at the top, from the Belluccia font family, adds a nice touch.
In this wedding invitation suite, the use of purple with the script font highlights the crisp look and shows off the detailed lines of the letters. I also love how the flourishes go off the edges of the paper.
Belluccia is used beautifully here to print the return address on the flap of the envelope. This is an easy way to give envelopes a professional look.
Foglio is an Italian term for paper. Sarah’s love of paper and stationery comes through in all of her designs.
Thanks Sarah for making my Belluccia shine!

Peacock Blue envelopes with white lettering

I’m in love with the look of these colorful wedding invitation envelopes. I hand-lettered using my Belluccia style in white ink at an angle with flourishes reaching off the edge of the envelope. The high contrasting color combo makes the lettering really pop. The actual color of the envelope is peacock-blue. My client’s pic made them look more cobalt blue than peacock but the effect is the same.
The happy couple, D.D and Jackie, had the idea to use fun, bright stamps as a creative touch to the design. I love the fleur-de-lis printed label that was added to the back flap. The combination of these vivid colors, hand lettering, and whimsical stamps creates a lively invitation that is sure to impress.
Here is the sample envelope with more accurate colors.
Here are the completed envelopes without the stamps. What a difference!
More to come from this lovely wedding– I will also be creating place cards for the June nuptials.
Happy Wedding D.D. and Jackie!

I love the colors of this lovely letterpress invitation! The use of the pink floral background really highlights the charcoal gray lettering and I love how the letterpress really makes my cursive font pop.

It’s a delight to see my font used in such a pretty wedding invite. And you’ll be pleased to know the price of this letterpress printer, My Personal Artist, is very reasonable. Check out more of their lovely designs!

The letterpress process creates a beautiful depth to the font and gives these invites a professional look.
Thanks Michelle for the great post!

I was happy to see designs by the talented Nessa Sander, of Cardgirl Invitations, on Pinterest. She ‘s an invitation designer who has used my Belluccia font for a recent Save the Date project.
It’s cool to see her use it for her name in these design presentations.

As well as in her logo.

Nessa is one of the many designers from A Fresh Bunch who will be displaying their work at this years Surtex, an annual art licensing show in New York.

Beautiful Maui Wedding Invitation with Belluccia Font

Loved finding this Style Me Pretty post with an invitation featuring my cursive font, Belluccia. It was designed by Bradley and Lily Fine Stationery. This beautiful wedding took place in the breathtaking Maui countryside. The gorgeous photography was done by Christie Pham Photography . ( Sorry the link to her website seems to be having problems.)
“Taking inspiration from the location, the bride defined her wedding style as upcountry elegance. To set the stage, she commissioned an illustration of the vine-covered arch that would welcome the guests to the ceremony and would also serve as a symbol of their new life together. The illustration was letterpressed onto a wood veneer band and wrapped around their crisp, navy and cream suite of letterpress wedding stationery. At the wedding, the mix of exposed rustic wood tables, lace runners and burlap combined with elegant and lush florals created a graceful and welcoming balance. Guests were guided into the reception along a log path which revealed the setting and a spectacular view overlooking the Maui countryside and ocean beyond.
Custom coffee cup holders are a fun place to use the custom illustration of the vine covered arch with the couple’s initials added in the center.
And how cute is this map of Maui complete with the luggage cover? Love the creativity!
Darling idea for displaying pics of the bride and groom.

Creative DIY Save the Date

You may remember the modern chevron designed wedding invitation that I posted previously. Well when I saw the Save the Date that had been sent for the same wedding, I thought it was such a darling idea I asked the bride if I could post it.
She was more than happy to share.
Taylor, the bride, found an old window pane and lettered “Save The Date” in the top three panes. This can be done with either a chalk marker or acrylic paint. She used the bottom three windows to put the numerical date. The numbers are cut out and backed with newspaper to go along with the rustic feel.
They found a great weathered red barn as a backdrop. A picture was snapped. They selected a casual font (available where they had the pictures printed) and then used the 4″ x 6″ pics as the actual Save the Date. Though they used white envelopes, another option would be to use red, blue or spring green. Then use a gel pen in a contrasting color to address them.
This is a great example of a creative invitation that is economical too!
Way to go Taylor! And Happy Wedding to you, Jacob and your families.

DIY Wedding Signature Cocktail Menu

Eat, Drink & Be Married!
Can’t decide on one signature cocktail for your wedding? Why not choose two…one for the bride AND the groom!
This 22″ x 28″ sign will let your guests know exactly what they are imbibing. And you can re-use it later in your home for future parties!
These smaller 8″ x 10″ drink signs can be set out at the reception or after party so guests can easily select from a choice of 4 specialty drinks. The frames can later be filled with pics and used to create a wall gallery in your home.
You can create all of the above with a combination of your favorite fonts, just make sure they’re readable. It’s fine to mix up the styles for the larger His and Her titles but keep the ingredient wording legible. I’ve used Alana Pro a versatile script font by Laura Worthington for the listings here.
Fontbros.com , where my cursive font Belluccia is sold, has some free fonts that would fit well for the drink titles.
Using coordinated framed menus is an easy way to add decoration and bring a sense of occasion to any party.
So you can Eat, Drink and Be Married in style!
