Sweet Wedding details using Cursive font and Wedding Ornaments

My friend, and lovely mother-of-the-bride, Deni, continues to create unique items for her daughter’s upcoming July wedding.  Using my new calligraphy font and wedding ornaments, she has created these sweet cards with the names and wedding dates of family members of both the bride and groom.

After laying out the type and choosing ornaments

( bells, rings, wedding dress, cake, shoe and ring pillow, to name a few)  she added a simple stitch border.

Printed on a tan parchment, the shape is then cut out with design scissors.  ( These used to be called pinking sheers.  Now you can get them in a large variety of different designs from the craft store.)

Here’s a pic of some uncut tags.

More printed wedding tags waiting to be cut.

She will add  ribbon and attach these to the top of a glass dome.  Inside will be items from that particular wedding.  Isn’t that such a sweet idea?  I’ll be sure to post pics after the wedding!

She’s also created paper holders for rose petals. She used double sided paper with both a solid and patterned side.  She printed a note on the inside to suggest the rose petals be thrown as the bride and groom pass by. Then  she cut the edge of the paper with the design scissors, and wrapped it into a cone shape.

Love, love, love these darling details!  And love Deni for all her great ideas!

She is the best font tester ever!

I know I keep saying the font will be released soon):  And it will.   We are soooo close.  But we don’t want to put it out there until it is just right.  I can’t wait to show it to you. Thanks for being patient!

The new font is absolutely fabulous and so much fun! I love it! I will go on and on about it AFTER I have finished these DIY wedding projects! 🙂 It is my favorite calligraphy font ever…elegant but a little whimsical, too….and looks more like true pointed pen calligraphy than any font I have ever seen. It is a privilege to be trying out this font for my daughter’s wedding. I am a definite beginner/amateur/newbie. I don’t have any artistic background or special computer software, but Debi’s font is so easy to use, it is adding professionalism to DIY projects. Debi is the BEST!
