Thank You Gift Presentation

I had so much fun putting together this thank you gift for Target in appreciation of our work together on the St. Jude’s ad.  This colorful package contains cookies and text that follow along with the poem and pictures featured in the ad.

I love creating personalized gifts of appreciation that will make the receivers’ day. My goal is to wow them at every step.

wrapped gift

First, I painted and hand lettered words from the poem around this circular container.  I also painted the lid of the box to look like the Target logo. After tying a matching polka dot ribbon around the package I attached a round thank you card with hand lettered spiraling text.

foam snow flakes

Seeing as this box contains delicious (and breakable) cookies, I needed to find a decorative way of protecting the contents.  I used these foam snow flakes and white shredding to cushion the cookies and keep them snug in the box. They also happen to go with the theme.

cookies with lettering

These adorable cookies were baked and decorated by the talented Mary of It’s A Mary Cake.  Mary decorated the little girl cookies to look like the children from the advertisement and made the colorful dinosaur cookies to go along with the poem.

St. Jude's cookie

Mary also duplicated both St. Jude’s and Target’s logo in fondant and then I hand lettered the words.

I’m happy to say, my contacts at Target were delighted to “taste and see” their gift.

I had so much fun creating this one. This idea could be used for so many different occasions.  And who doesn’t love receiving a cookie?

Unique Bridal Party Thank You Gifts

Custom cookie with decorated boxes for bridesmaids

I am thrilled to be working with the darling bride, Michal Booth, and her sweet groom, Corey Schultz.  I’ll be creating their save the date’s  and wedding invitations soon.  In the meantime they wanted to thank their bridesmaids and groomsmen in a special way. These thank you cookies did the trick.

The bridesmaids’ cookies are modeled after the gorgeous dresses they will be wearing at the wedding. I found beautiful fabric in just the right colors to match! The hand lettered boxes include an illustrated flower. A small hand lettered thank you note shared the bride’s thoughts.

Since Corey is in the dental field, what could be better than a toothbrush and small molar cookies for his groomsmen! Wind-up chattering teeth added some fun to the theme.

How cute are the toothpaste tube addresses? These were fun to do :D

Fun Favors for “Blowout” Birthday party

In a previous post I shared the invitations for a “blowout” birthday party at drybar in Dallas.  Since I don’t have girls, I never got to pick party favors with a girly theme.  So I had a great time, looking for head bands, clips and sparkly bobby pins to add to these take home gifts!

Favors for Blowout Birthday party

I needed a good size container to hold all the candy and other goodies. These great clear plastic paint cans with silver lids, found at Michael’s, worked perfectly.   The yellow bags were filled with candy including “Ring Pops” and “Candy Necklaces”.  I used to love those when I was a kid:) The personalization on the bags and charcoal shimmer paper tags kept everyone straight.

Peace, Love and Blowouts

The bags were sealed with round white labels from Paper Source and hand lettered then printed with “peace, love and blowouts!” the party mantra.

Hair themed favors

I must admit I had to check with several girl moms to ask if they knew what 10 year old girls like to put in their hair…”anything that sparkles” was the most common answer.

Snack box

To make transporting snacks easy, I found this darling yellow hat box .

Party Snacks

Goldfish, Crunchy Cheetos and yogurt covered raisins were easily made available while the girls  were having their hair done and provided a little salt to balance the sugar from the candy and cupcakes they’d be eating:)

Happy Birthday Tatum!  Thanks for the fun trip to girl land !

Fun Girls’ Weekend Invitation

Love, Love, Love being a part of the planning for a girl’s weekend!  We need our girlfriends!  I am about to go on one myself:)  Can’t wait!

In the meantime, I had the pleasure of creating some “girls weekend invitations” for the fabulous photographer Angie Weedon of  Angela Weedon Photography.  She decided on margarita shaped decorated cookies with the girls names and basic weekend info hand lettered on the cookie.  They are made by the always fabulous baking duo of Carolyn Arnold and Mary Holman.  I added the hand lettering in food coloring, and the candy lime slice and ribbons.  Then they were put into the boxes that are decorated with fabric and coordinating crinkle paper to add color and cushioning.

Personalized margarita cookie invitationThe lime shaped candy added a special added touch.

Angie provided the fabric, which came from Moona Fabrics . ( Lots of cool vintage patterns.) The information card was printed utilizing her colors of turquoise, orange, lime green and white.  A final margarita seal on the outside of the box adds to the suspense of what’s inside.

Information card for girls weekend

I was so excited to use my new calligraphy font on the card !  I am working hard to get it done.  But I want to take the time to include all kinds of cool stylistic alternatives so the release date will likely be mid May.  But it is fun to have the basic version on my computer and to actually use it for some projects.

Back to the invitations…they went in the mail Saturday so hopefully the guests will start receiving them sometime next week.

Hand lettered addresses on boxed invitation

I can’t wait to hear their reaction.

It is truly the coolest thing for me to participate in some small way to celebrate the gathering of girlfriends!

I love my local girls too! Wish we could get together more often.

Do you have a group of gals you get together with on a regular basis?

Do you have long time friends, like me, who live in different states, but you all make the time every year or so to take a trip together?   I’d love to hear about your group of gals.  Do you have a name?  Our is “Club Girls”.

Oh and don’t tell Angie, but I made an invite for her too.  I thought it would be fun for her to experience what her guests will feel when they open their mailbox to find this delicious treat!

Amazing cookies for an amazing event !

Carolyn Arnold, of Amazing Cakes & Cookies, and I were thrilled to create these “Fruit of the Vine” cookie boxes for an amazing KMI event.  “Kids Matter International” is a wonderful organization helping kids “around the world and around the block”.

Their annual gala was held this past Friday night at the Hilton Southlake.

Becky Cole, the Event Chair came to us wanting some special Thank You gifts for her very generous sponsors.  Carolyn and her team created these beautiful wine bottle cookies with a ” Thank You” label.  The other cookie was shaped like  a cluster of grapes.  Two  grape shaped cookie balls completed the set.  I created the decorated boxes and did the hand lettering. A great team effort that provided a very deserving treat.

What could be sweeter than beautiful and delicious cookies!

Thanks to Becky and Marti for allowing us to be a small part of this wonderful evening.
