2013 Calendar with Belluccia Calligraphy Font

I received this beautiful calender of gorgeous flowers from my dear friend and talented designer, Bev Verbeke.  I’m thrilled that my Belluccia calligraphy font was chosen to be a part of this project.

Each month features a different edible flower, many of which are also known as medicinal. The inside cover offers interesting information about the uses or history of each flower.

For instance begonias can have a tangy or lemony flavor.  You can add them to green salads or vegetable dishes!

Feast your eyes on these lovely monthly pages!

Each page offers an inspiring quote and an affirmation. Affirmations are positive statements that are used, ideally daily, to manifest that which you desire in your life.

June’s saying is ” We don’t see things the way they are.  We see things the way We are.”-Talmud

The Sunflower is the perfect choice for September’s affirmation:” I am radiant.”

Calligraphy and Portrait Illustration for Letterpress Stationary

I created this personalized stationary for a client who was giving it to her sister as a Christmas/Wedding gift.

She gave me separate pictures of the couple and their three pets.

What’s not to love about these three cuties:)

I created a black and white drawing of  the couple and each of their “children”, arranged them together then added the hand lettered last name.

I also created a return address for the envelope.

I handed over the digital file to the very capable hands of letterpress printer, Travis Friedrich of ParkLifePress.com.

He printed in a soft gray on a luxurious 100% cotton paper at 6.25″ by 4.5″ wide.

This was the second project I’ve done with Travis and both were perfection! And his pricing is very reasonable.

I hope the Bowmans were as pleased with the result as the gift giver was!

Belluccia Calligraphy Font used in Black and White Wedding

I love the crisp look of black and white!  And I was thrilled to see my Belluccia calligraphy font was chosen to add to this couple’s classic look on Snippet & Ink’s blog.

It’s used on the Rehearsal dinner invite ( love the gray stripes in the background), Wedding invitation, RSVP and return envelope, as well as the program and favor bags seen in the last pic below.

The gray programs pop with the couples white initials and ribbon.

How darling are these monogrammed totes for the guests favors. I wonder what’s inside???

Retro Christmas Card in Calligraphy

Since I know these have now been mailed, I can finally show you a custom retro Christmas card I designed for one of my sweetest clients.

The client ordered the cards and envelopes with liners online from www.cardsandpockets.com and had them shipped to my studio.  This allowed me to match the colors.  I have to say, the quality of the cards and envelopes was very good for the price.

They wanted a retro look created with all hand lettering.  My favorite!

The lettering and other design elements were created by hand using a round brush and gouache paint.

It was scanned into the computer and placed in the card designed in Photoshop.

They were printed on white 6″ x 6″ folded cards.

Since they live up north, adding some snow was a must!

Next I’ll be creating cards for a Holiday Card exchange.  Need to get those out by Dec. 12.  Better get back to work!

Dom Loves Mary calligraphy font on Bridal Luncheon invite

I was thrilled to have the chance to play with my new “Dom Loves Mary” calligraphy font on this Bridal Luncheon invitation for a client of DFW Events!

I loved adding all the flourishes to the upper and lower case letters in the brides name.

The invitation, in hot pink and orange, was presented to the guests in a personalized champagne glass.  ( For some reason the hot pink turned more purple in this post:)

The younger flower girls who were attending the luncheon received flower cookies, made by “It’s a Mary Cake“, with their invitation attached.

A flower cookie favor was also placed at their table setting.

Thanks to all who have been loving Dom Loves Maryt just as much as I do.

Dom Loves Mary calligraphy font is launched!

Thanks to all for following the love story of my in-laws, Dominic and Mary Sementelli. I’m thrilled that my “Dom Loves Mary” calligraphy font, created in their memory, has finally been launched on Myfonts.com!

This week, I’ll be showing you some of the features of the font that I created specifically with weddings in mind.

The first thing I want to highlight is the special package of 66 ADD ON words. Some of the projects these can be used for are: invitations, envelope addressing, programs, Bride and Groom signs, Thank you tags and note cards.

Today, I’m going to show you the cool ways you can use it for envelope addressing.

I included ” deliver to” and embellished titles ( Mr. and Mrs.( as seen above), Mr. Miss, Ms, Doctor, The Doctors ) to add a special touch to your envelopes.  In this sample, I used a combination of both the Dom Loves Mary SCRIPT CONTEXTUAL and TEXT fonts, as well as additional letter flourishes, that come in two sets of 72 each.

I had so much fun creating all the different options, I just couldn’t stop myself!

This sample was created using mostly the SCRIPT fonts ( A combination of STYLISTIC and STANDARD) with just the city and state in the TEXT font along with added flourishes on some of the letters in the names. One of my favorites is the abbreviation for number (No.). I think it  looks really cool when used for Apartment numbers:)

Fall Harvest Feast Invitation

I came across this beautiful fall harvest feast invitation at Oh So Beautiful Paper.

Designed by Gus & Ruby Letterpress , it makes me miss the fall from my Pennsylvania roots.

Liz, of  Paper Posy Designs, was the originator of this inspiration shoot.

The shoot took place in an apple orchard and Liz’s vision was all apple pie, cozy blankets, wood texture and a rich, autumnal palette.

Luxe pearl white cotton paper was the perfect canvas for my Belluccia calligraphy font paired with classic roman font and letterpress printed in a deep plummy ink.   The gorgeous multicolor fabric invitation backing was hand sewn using metallic gold thread.

Finally,the piece was wrapped in a double-layer belly band composed of creamy ecru cotton and natural oatmeal linen upon which was letterpress printed an inviting quote.

To top it all off, each envelope was lined with a metallic gold-stripe envelope liner.

Menus at each place setting again featured simple typesetting, lots of white space and the addition of a small wheat graphic ( from my Belluccia flourishes set) and were mounted to a creamy ecru cotton backing paper for a neutral tone on tone effect.

OOOOH and I love this yummy looking currant and chocolate treat with hand sewn card.

The whole suite puts me in the mood for crisp colorful fall leaves crunching under my feet:)

Don’t have much of that in Texas:(

Wedding Invitation in Gold

This wedding invitation in gold, white and plum has so many fabulous details! 

Jami Dixon of Imaj Design once again used her creative talents to the max to create this invitation suite and other personalized wedding items.  

I was thrilled to create the custom hand lettering for this project and amazed at how great it all looked on the final pieces.  That is the magic of a great designer!
The rich gold pattern on the back of the invite, and beautiful plum belly band stamped with a gold foil monogram create a luxurious look.
The  monogram was used throughout the invitation suite and at the wedding.

It was tucked into the liner of the envelope.


And, at the beautiful reception held at the Belo Mansion, the couple’s custom monogram lit the floor.
Check out these very thick letterpress coasters. Love them!!!
From coasters, to place cards, water bottles, napkins and out of town guest boxes, Jami made sure that element tastefully reflected the bride and groom’s signature style.

Wedding invitation suite with Belluccia on Oh So Beautiful Paper Blog

This wedding invitation suite with my cursive font, Belluccia, on the”Oh So Beautiful Paper” blog is yet another fabulous creation from designer Jami Dixon of Imaj Design.

This couple travels often to Germany.  Inspired by the pattern on a traditional German folk style dress she saw in a photo of the bride, Jami created a signature pattern that was used as a liner and  backer on the invitation and was incorporated into the wedding program.

A beautiful custom touch!

For the invitation suite, she used natural elemenst while also maintaining a degree of sophistication. A light brown paper with natural grooves and texture was chosen  for the main invitation and an off-white Italian paper with its own impressive texture was used for the accommodations and rsvp cards.

The entire suite was letterpress printed in their signature green color and tied-up with off-white double-scalloped lace.
Jami’s talent with paper and incredible design skills never cease to amaze me!
